Merit Member Conference Program Committee

The Merit Member Conference program committee selects and develops the content for the conference and advises Merit staff on important features of the event. Following are the members of the 2012 MMC program committee and their years of service:
  • Jeff Edwards, Spring Arbor College (2011, 2012)
  • Dan Eklund, University of Michigan (2012)
  • Kim Frazho, Houghton Lake Public Library (2012)
  • Mike LaHaye, Internet2 (2011, 2012)
  • Greg Lozeau, Western Michigan University (2011, 2012)
  • Chris Williams, Bay de Noc Community College (2012)

The following Merit staff members also participate on the program committee:
  • Debbie DeSousa, Southern Michigan Member Relations Manager
  • Andy Rosenzweig, Manager, Professional Learning
  • Jason Russell, Member Relations Director
  • Mary Shindell, Services Associate

The program committee recommends and selects featured speakers; reviews presentation proposals; identifies significant topics that should be included in the agenda; recruits speakers from the Merit Community and other organizations; and introduces speakers during the conference. The committee meets via conference call periodically for several months leading up to the conference.

Program committee members represent a variety of roles and areas of interest within Merit's Membership, and represent the major types of organizations Merit serves. The committee helps ensure that the conference agenda reflects many technical and policy interests that are important to Merit's Members.

Program committee members are invited by Merit staff based on their professional interests, organizational type, and past interest in the Member Conference. Committee membership usually lasts for two years.

If you are interested in serving on the program committee in the future, please contact Andy Rosenzweig, Manager, Professional Learning, by email at . In your email, please include your name, job title, organization, and a brief description of your areas of interest.
